To a Clean Microwave

Somehow, a silly poem I wrote urging faculty to clean up the microwave after their lunches exploded has gone semi-viral around these parts.  It is now posted in both the Social Science and Humanities offices.  And while I’m happy that I can help keep our campus tidy, you’ll see why I’m not too keen on having this as my campus legacy:

To a Clean Microwave:

A microwave to heat your meal

Only has so much appeal,

For when your leftovers deign to erupt,

Sticky messes are left for someone else to clean

To solve this dilemma, we have sought to provide

Some tools, found both true and tried:

Paper towels to shield your grub,

And Clorox Wipes, in case you need to scrub.
