A Question

I have a question for you today:

If you could have any original piece of art hanging in your home, what would you choose?

I would pick Andrew Wyeth’s Wind From the Sea. It’s always reminded me of summers in Washburn, Wisconsin, where wind would blow up from Lake Superior and freshen everything.

P.S. An adventure to the National Gallery of Art, including the most (forgive me) badass portrait I’ve ever seen.

  1. This is such an interesting question because, on the surface, it can be taken for, “What’s your favorite painting?” But that’s not the question at all. The question is, “What painting do could you actually look at every day and not get sick of?” The art has to not just be enjoyable, but livable. For example, Rembrandt is one of my favorite painters, but I would never want to have him on my wall. It wouldn’t fit my interior design and I’d get bored. Your choice of painting is very beautiful because it’s both aesthetically pleasing and intriguing–it inspires ideas and keeps you coming back for more.

I’m honestly not sure what painting I would choose… Off the top of my head, I think I’d pick Van Gogh’s Almond Blossoms. I saw this painting at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and returned to it at least three times. I love the variety of blues in the background and the blossoms remind me of being home.

I can’t upload the photo to this post, but it can be found here: https://uploads5.wikiart.org/images/vincent-van-gogh/branches-with-almond-blossom-1890(1).jpg
