Morning, Valentine’s Day, 2012.
I bound out of my bedroom, dressed in red, grinning like a fool. It’s one of my favorite holidays, particularly because of the general mood of goodwill that pervades the day. Also because of the chocolate.
“Happy Valentine’s Day!” I say to my roommate.
With as much darkness as she can muster from the depths of the futon, she replies:
“What are you so happy about? You’re single.”
Whatever your plans, don’t let the haters get you down this weekend.
